Nearly a decade after Recomposed’s groundbreaking release, Max Richter presents an “alternative rendering” performed by Chineke!, a diverse British ensemble, with soloist Elena Urioste on gut strings and period instruments like those from Vivaldi’s era. Richter embraces the raw, tactile sound of gut strings, blending them with vintage electronic elements, including his own 1970s Moog synth, producing a rich, textured reinterpretation with analogue warmth and historic gravitas.
