Tragic Magic brings together Julianna Barwick and Mary Lattimore for a deeply immersive collaboration shaped by years of shared touring and creative trust. Recorded over nine days at the Philharmonie de Paris with co-producer Trevor Spencer (Fleet Foxes, Beach House), the album weaves harp, voice, and analogue synthesizers into seven evocative compositions.
Created in partnership with InFiné and the Musée de la Musique, the project features rare historical harps alongside iconic synths, bridging centuries of musical expression. Rooted in improvisation, friendship, and the artists’ experiences in Paris, Tragic Magic is an intimate meditation on tragedy, wonder, and the quiet persistence of beauty.
