The Jesus Lizard’s second album Goat builds on their ferocious debut with pounding rhythms, sharp guitar work, and David Yow’s increasingly unhinged vocals. Produced by Steve Albini, it’s a tightly crafted noise-rock assault where groove and chaos collide. Highlights include the riff-driven “Mouth Breather,” the swaggering “Nub,” and the menacing “Monkey Trick.” Denison’s guitar shows more melodic flair, while the rhythm section remains brutally tight. Goat is raw, abrasive, and oddly infectious—like a dance party in hell.
