Here’s to Shutting Up was set for release on September 18, 2001, but was delayed due to the events of 9/11. Touring through Japan and the UK during a tense global moment, Superchunk faced mixed reactions amid the uncertainty. Recorded in Atlanta’s Zero Return studio with producer Brian Paulson, the album took shape from scratch through jam sessions in a rural garage, using their usual instruments, a Casio, and shifting roles for inspiration.
