Rhoda Dakar returns with Version Girl, her first solo album in seven years — a vibrant collection of reggae and ska covers by artists and songwriters she admires. Rhoda began her musical journey as the lead vocalist of the all-female 2Tone band The Bodysnatchers, who released the singles "Let's Do Rocksteady" and "Easy Life" before disbanding after just a year. She then joined The Specials as a guest vocalist, touring across Europe and the U.S. and featuring on their second album More Specials, which earned her the first of seven gold records. Following The Specials’ split, and before joining Jerry Dammers’ new project, she recorded The Bodysnatchers' first original track.
