In 2002, Regina Spektor was bursting with creativity, writing so many songs she struggled to keep track. Friend Joe Mendelson helped archive dozens of one-take recordings, from which twelve were selected to form Songs. The album features early versions of “Samson” and “Ne Me Quitte Pas,” later re-recorded for her major releases. Now expertly remastered by Bob Ludwig, these original recordings are available for the first time beyond a handmade CD-R, celebrating their 22nd anniversary.
