Emerging from the UK’s festival scene since 1983, Ozric Tentacles blend ambient soundscapes, freeform dub, rave grooves, and psychedelic progressive rock. Their music captures the diverse, alternative spirit of free festivals—mixing acid rock, dub, reggae, world music, and jazzy electronic experimentation.
The Hidden Step (2000), their ninth studio album, was the last to feature bassist Zia Ahmad Geelani (except one track) and drummer Conrad “Rad” Prince. Unlike previous albums, its cover art—by guitarist Edward Wynne—features his cat, Pixel, instead of artist Blim’s work.
