David Byrne releases Who Is the Sky?, his first album since 2018’s American Utopia, via Matador Records. Produced by Kid Harpoon and arranged by Ghost Train Orchestra, the 12-track record features St. Vincent, Hayley Williams, Tom Skinner, and Mauro Refosco. Led by the single “Everybody Laughs,” the album blends Byrne’s reflections on shared human experiences with vibrant, orchestral grooves. With artwork by Shira Inbar and costumes by Tom Van Der Borght, Who Is the Sky? embodies Byrne’s pursuit of transformation, freedom, and the joy of collaboration.
