After his Berlin trilogy, Bowie released Scary Monsters, blending electronic sounds with Robert Fripp’s sharp guitar on tracks like Fashion and Scary Monsters. Highlights include Ashes to Ashes updating Major Tom’s story, and Kingdom Come with Tom Verlaine and Fripp. Pete Townshend also contributed to Because You’re Young. This was Bowie’s final album before a three-year acting hiatus, returning in 1983 with Let’s Dance.
