In 1964, Dave Davies of The Kinks made rock history by slashing his Elpico amp, creating the first heavy metal guitar tone on the hit "You Really Got Me." Nearly 50 years later, Davies continued to inspire with his 2013 U.S. tour supporting I Will Be Me, which led to his acclaimed 2014 album Rippin Up Time. Backed by Jonathan Lea, Tom Currier, and Dennis Diken, Davies rocked cities across the U.S., culminating in two electrifying shows at NYC's City Winery, blending solo work, Kinks classics, and new material for a legendary audience.
