Live One captures Coil’s acclaimed April 2000 live debut at London’s Royal Festival Hall, part of Julian Cope’s Cornucopea festival. Featuring John Balance, Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson, Thighpaulsandra, and Ossian Brown, the band performed a hypnotic set in custom fluffy polar Teletubby suits, blending drone textures with new tension. Balance’s vocals on “Queens of the Circulating Library” are controlled and distinct from his later style. The show and the rare 2003 CD release were highly praised, leading to several tours before Balance’s passing. This historic performance is now available as a double 180g vinyl in a deluxe gatefold, overseen by Thighpaulsandra on the Retractor label.
