Cindy, led by Karina Gill, crafts moody, minimalist indie rock reminiscent of Galaxie 500 and Mazzy Star. Gill, a latecomer to music, began after discovering a tape-wrapped guitar in her basement. Following a promising debut, their breakout album Free Advice gained attention across the US and UK. Their third LP, 1:2, is a haunting, introspective record where Gill’s hushed vocals and sparse guitar meet subtle, surreal instrumentation.
