In summer 2021, Bobby Gillespie was asked by French filmmaker Émilie Deleuze to compose the soundtrack for her comedy road movie Cinq Hectares, about a man driving a tractor across France. Gillespie, new to film scoring, recorded the soundtrack in summer 2022 in East London with producers James Rand and Thomas Gorton and a group of talented young musicians, including saxophonist Al White. The limited-edition coloured vinyl features blue, white, and red stripes in a deluxe card sleeve, and includes a free download card.
