Thanks to everyone for their feedback regarding the best way to operate Record Store Day this weekend. After much deliberation we feel that should there be the usual demand for RSD product then a socially distanced queue will be the best way forward. The store will be open from 8am until 4pm, with any remaining stock being available via our online store at www.eclipse-records.co.uk at 6pm.
Firstly, it goes without saying but should you have any of the symptons of COVID-19 then please do not visit us this Saturday
This year, should there be the need for a queue, we ask that you queue outside the rear entrance to the Victorian Arcade into Lower Hall Lane (the entrance by the old Scooters Retro Lounge). This is the access to the store that has the least public traffic and far fewer other shops than the other two entrances. Please follow social distancing guidelines while queueing. We will issue lists to early customers before opening so we can prepare your order, and give you the option to select alternatives should any item be unavailable.
When the centre opens at 7am, we would ask that you please remain outside the centre until Eclipse Giles (our friendly doorman 😊) directs you to the shop. At this time we ask that you wear your face mask
We will be operating one customer at a time while any queue exists, so we can fully focus on assisting you with your selections. Upon entry there will be hand sanitiser provided and also gloves if required. Face masks will be, as is the case now, mandatory in the shop.
When leaving we would ask that you leave the centre via the Digbeth exit.
Eclipse Dave will be updating the queue as far as possible after opening with any items that have sold out, to avoid you having to queue un-neccesarily
We are mindful that some of you may have concerns at the present time. We are confident that the plans we have made, along with responsible queueing (which we are sure will happen because you’re all a great bunch) will allow for an incident free and fun day, in true RSD style. However, please don’t hesistate to contact us should you still have concerns as we will be more than happy to discuss these with you
